Bio - Aranya
Aranya (Ritesh Lala) is a New Media Artist based in Brooklyn, New York. He grew up in Ahmedabad, India, and holds a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics from Nirma University, Gujarat, and a Masters in Media Arts and Technology (MAT) from University of California, Santa Barbara. His work softens boundaries between seemingly divergent or contradictory states — solidity and motion, nature and the digital canvas, image and sound.
His practice has also extended into collaborative and site-specific commissions, including an artist residency at MASS MoCA with musician Kaki King, where he brought real-time projection mapping to her show Data Not Found. His work has been exhibited at Homeostasis Lab (virtual, São Paulo), the India Art Fair (New Delhi), and MAT End of Year Shows (Santa Barbara).
Alongside his studio practice, Ritesh is also the founder of Lucid Space, a creative technology studio that specializes in immersive and interactive experiences.
